Oil analysis (OA) is an important tool for routine machine health condition monitoring and ad-hoc assessments.
Lubricant samples must be taken at the right point in the machine and ideally when it is running. Samples are sent to a specialist laboratory for detailed analysis. The lab report will identify wear debris and contaminants against “acceptable” levels.
